I believe reinstalling it to a shorter directory may be the answer. Most of the steps are standard troubleshooting proceedures, but I cannot tell you which one solved the problem. Hi guys, I've contacted supported and, after following their directions, it seems the problem was solved. Sorry bud, but it appears you still have a saving situation on your hands. It doesn't start me way back at the beginning. Last note specifically for Mr.Caine: My game loads on the same screen I saved on. Result: The game works perfectly on my 7 machine. I'm going to install this on my Windows 7 laptop and see if this yields the solution. Quick edit: I am running on a Windows 8 64-bit tower. I hope this can be fixed in the future, as I really want to get into this.Īlso, The launcher box is mentioning not seeing a "gencfg.bat" or something like that. Furthermore, when I viewed the trailer in the start menu, this led to a crash whenever I tried to load the save. Doing so after walking on the eye resulted in a crash. If I walked around the eye and saved at the dead rat, it would do so. After experimenting a bit, I discovered that it was my activation of the hint FMVs that caused this. It would let me do so with no issues at the very beginning, which made me curious. Here is what has been going on with me: I can get as far as I want into the game and it runs just fine, but it chases whenever I try to save.
It has something to do with the movies barring the intro to a new game.
Mr.Caine: At first trying to saving the progress made the game crash.Re-instalation fixed that but it seems now that loading up a save is the same as just starting a new game-it just starts you off at the very beginning.
